Confidentiality

Maintaining privacy belongs to the duties of an attorney-at-law. A person who gives information to the firm is assured that such information is not revealed to outside parties. The client can therefore fully trust his attorney.

Closely related to maintaining privacy is the obligation to avoid conflicts of intrest. This means that the firm will not represent anyone in a matter against a client, or a former client of the firm. In this way, a client can be assured that information given to the firm will not be used in a way contrary to his or her interests.
